I’m three days away from closing escrow and buying back my property from them, but communication has been extremely poor. It took weeks to even receive an estimated settlement statement, and I realized they hadn’t asked how I wanted the title vested, nor had they sent the appraisal or title report.
While my transaction ultimately worked out, I can’t stress enough how important it is to read your contract carefully and stay on top of them. Even an eight-hour gap in communication could cause delays or extra costs. I was lucky nothing went wrong, but if it had, my contract likely wouldn’t have offered much protection.
