I talked with my realtor about programs like Homeward, and she has experience working with them. Her take wasn’t great. She felt the process was slow and inflexible. Homeward requires a 7-day option period so they can do a desk appraisal, and you don’t get to pick your own title company. Another big concern is that they don’t fully underwrite you upfront. That means you could go through the whole process only to have them back out at the end—losing your earnest money and the house.
