I’ve done two deals with HomeLight. They claim that 98% of homes sell within 120 days, and from what I’ve seen, they only take on deals they believe will sell—they really don’t want to end up buying the homes themselves.
A common concern I’ve heard is whether they’ll dump the price later, but in my experience, they tend to stick with the same realtor the seller had (even though they say they don’t). In one deal I closed, the home sold just before the 120-day mark. Both the client and the realtor said they’d work with HomeLight again. It wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t bad either.
The second deal closed on their purchase about two months ago, and I haven’t seen whether they’ve resold that home yet. Overall, my experience has been a bit mixed—some positives, but definitely not without uncertainties.
